Steele wasn't sure how much longer he could wait, a man could only lie still for so long before certain bodily functions needed to be seen to, and his leg was beginning to cramp up which could make his plan a bit tricky.

Although the drive to Connor's house seemed to be passing quickly Laura couldn't help but feel anxious. Part of it she was sure was a feeling of no control over the situation, she knew it had made perfect sense for Mildred to drive but now it felt like yet another aspect out of her hands and consequently her stress levels were soaring.

Laura as usual was fast and efficient, the bulk of the babies naturally slowing her but not noticeably, before long she was back out of the office and ready to leave. It should have been an easy and straightforward task, all she had to do was open a door and walk out. There was however one more obstacle, she had to get past Mildred first.

Fred managed to find the address quickly with relative ease making Steele wish he could summon the nerve to approach the house with the same abilities. The house itself was huge and rather intimidating causing Steele to wonder if it reflected its owner and whether he'd done the right thing in coming here.

It wasn't until he exited the building that Steele realised he'd not thought about how he'd make the journey to see Conner. Had Laura taken the rabbit or had Fred driven her? His stress and worry over Laura were causing his judgement to be off and so he was relieved to see Fred waiting for him.
